Title(s): The Wild Card, Envoy of Nightmares, The Calamity Trigger.
Gender: Male.
Race: Tengu (Native Outsider)
Age: 24 years old.
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 189lbs
Eye colour: Green
Hair colour: Black
Languages: English, French, German
Alignment: Neutral Good (May shift to Chaotic Evil)
Appearance
Riku takes more after his Mother than his Father. His hair falls just below his ears and is as black as can be, but his eyes are bright and expressive. They shine like emeralds in the sunlight, but have become darker over the years. Almost as if a black oil has forced them to become murky. Again like his Mother, his skin is not a ghastly hue, although he is more pale and his skin seems more smooth and less rough. Although he shares the same anatomy as a human being, this body is far beyond that; he shares some inhuman qualities such as his more pronounced incisors and pointed ears, or almost slit pupils (when he displays strong emotions they become more articulated).
He is rather tall and he holds himself up with some deceiving muscles; he is lanky, but beneath the clothes his body is filled out proportionally with evident muscle mass. Hiding away this toned body, he often sports something often informal, such a sweater and a t-shirt with some jeans, however more often he wears an undershirt beneath a white button-up shirt with a jacket over his shoulders. The navy blue jacket is accompanied with a blue-stripped tie on red, fitting snugly under the collar of his shirt. The belt that holds up his creased pants is made of leather, and the pants match the jacket with their dark blue. He doesn't wear any leathery shoes, but he does wear sneakers or converse shoes that are red on white.
Personality
Tough and courageous, Riku plans to set and achieve goals, overcome obstacles and persist through difficult times. However, he also tends to see others as enemies and tends to think in “either/or” terms. In truth, Riku behaves in a relatively simple way, seeking to simply win in any and every circumstance, no matter what confronts him, including the monsters that live inside his mind and their underlying fear of weakness. His challenge is to bring meaning to what he does, perhaps by choosing his battles wisely, by using courage to succeed, or by developing great self-discipline where needed. This manifests itself in his desire to win, even at the expense of other people and their well-being. He is also active in his life any time he feels compelled to compromise principles in order to compete, win, or get his own way. There is also the possibility of perceiving everything as a continuous battle, where virtually everything that happens is a personal slight, threat, or challenge to be confronted. Riku embodies repressed rage about structures that no longer serve life even when these structures are still supported by society or by their conscious choices. Although he can be ruthless, he weeds the garden in ways that allow for new growth. Riku can be a paradoxical character whose destructiveness reflects the instinctual death drive and the inner fear of annihilation. As a fighter, he tends to be careless of his own safety, and can sometimes put others in unnecessary danger as well. His quest is to use his passion in a balanced way that will sustain them. He is self-destructive. This manifests itself in his life as the tendency to be prone to addictions, compulsions, or activities that undermine intimacy, job success, or self-esteem. The shadow side of Riku tends to motivate a lot of emotional and physical abuse (murder, rape, etc.) when completely out of control.
Life Goal: Win, make a difference, Metamorphasis
Fear: Weakness, impotence, death, annihilation
Response to Problem: Slay it, defeat it, convert it or destroy it/be destroyed.
Life Task: Fight only for what really matters otherwise let go and accept morality.
Personal Gifts: Courage, discipline, determination, skill, humility, metamorphasis, revolution, capacity to let go.
Personal Pitfalls: Fear of impotence leading to ruthlessness, arrogance and doing harm to self/others, out of control anger or terrorist acts.
Ability List
Enhanced Condition
- Riku's unnatural condition (compared to a human) is considered to be 'Supernatural'. With his: superhuman agility, athleticism, awareness, balance, dexterity, durability, reflexes, regeneration, self-sustenance, senses, speed, stamina, strength, marksmanship, and swordsmanship, he is beyond an amateur level. He is strong enough to lift large air crafts and destroy some of the toughest metals, fast enough to break Mach 3, durable enough to take powerful explosions.
Mako Blood
- Although Riku has hardly come into contact with Mako energy, Slade's body was enhanced by the power. Instead of being poisoned, those of his blood will share a diluted enhancement much like he's endured. Unlike Slade, Riku's physical attributes will triple fold.
Kinetic Energy
- Riku can manipulate kinetic energy, the energy created by any form of movement. Using this power, Riku could be able to transfer kinetic energy from one object to another, thus strengthening attacks, or tearing holes in walls with a simple touch. He also could turn an object's potential energy into kinetic energy, making it explosive, and cause another being to be unable to move or unable to stop if in motion. [Journeyman]
Density
- Riku can manipulate the density and solidity of object or part of the object, whether living or non-living. Sometimes, he may be able to manipulate size/volume as well through direct contact. [Adept]
Polarity
- Riku has power over any polarity, the natural dualities of polar opposites or seemingly contrary forces that are interconnected and interdependent in the natural world and how they give rise to each other in turn in relation to each other. Allows Riku to oppose to all things, beings or powers. The power is split into sections where it counters that all original positions with opposites. It opposes basically anything with its direct opposites e.g. existence with nonexistence, life with death, fire with water, or fake with real vice versa, but not fire with nonexistence or good with darkness etc. [Adept]
Gravity
- Riku is capable of creating, shaping, manipulating, and controlling the natural phenomenon that all Physical bodies attract towards one another. Riku can bend gravity, flaten objects into oblivion, and repel/attract objects or energy regardless of its mass in a manner similar to telekinesis. [Expert]
Aura
- A lot is said about the etheric phenomenon of auras. Riku's own is able to manifest as a spiritual flame and anchor to the physical world as a neither hot, cold, nor wet or dry, although properties of this flame-like substance are able to be altered at-will. [Expert]
Dread
- Dread is the power to bring about all that is evil through any means. Riku draws upon the energy of Dread that layers this world and others. He generates, shapes, manipulates, and controls evil energy in any manner he finds most befitting. [Journeyman]
Valor
- Discovered after a mix of power, Riku discovered he is able to generate, shape, manipulate, and control the opposite forces of Dread. He can call upon the energy of Valor to bring about a goodness and use this good-aligned energy like Dread. He is not skilled with such power, yet. [Novice]
Demiplane of existence; "The Study"
- Through many years, none would expect Riku to hover over a book and read for countless days. In his time, and through a few acquired tidbits of magic, Riku has created a 30x30x20ft room made of stone. Inside, he has built 4 bookshelves housing many books he's stolen from magical libraries and they fill these book shelves. A desk sits with papers and pencils, with a wooden chair. Parallel to the book shelves, there are shelves in five locations like a pentagram with a plaque in the middle. Swords rest on the shelves, except for one, and in the plaque is two twin magnums that hang. Beneath that weapon rack is another table that have a few items of food and drink for those late nights Riku contemplates on advancing his power. The only two methods of breaking into this folded pocket in space is through the usage of an illusory key Riku uses and changes any nearby door, or through a small liminal bridge for those weapons. These liminal bridges are tattoo'd as corresponding runes inked on his forearms. The Study has Subjective Directional Gravity to Riku's will and Riku's will only. It flows with normal time and is finite in size. No element or energy-traits can be found from the plane itself, and is mildly neutral-aligned so no penalties are taken on magic; magic is normal within this room.
Familiar; Meebu
Before Riku's days, a black scaled dragon crossed paths with Riku's very own mother. Building a friendship, Meebu was willing to become her pet. Once Riku was born, Meebu and Riku had always seemed to have gotten along. Since his childhood, Meebu has always followed Riku as a friend and a warrior.
Summon; King Bahamut
At a young age, Riku was introduced to Bahamut. Slade proved his worth against the Dragon King, and to pass down their alliance down the line, Riku had to prove himself. Although he furnished no significant power, he proved himself somewhat against Slade. Befriending the Dragon King, he and Meebu have spent much time together. Now Bahamut will heed Riku's call.
Weaponry
Vinculum
- Many, many years ago on a world much distant than the rest, in the most eastern regions, villages on the countryside were homes to plenty of Tengu. Roughly a small nation of these bird-like folk were told by the Daitengu, who was an old, white crow, that one day a youngling of their own would be the answer - their salvation. The Daitengu had old scholars who were on their verge of passing on to become one, where they would guide the youngling towards a brighter future with their knowledge on chronological power. This was the beginning of Vinculum, a sword that would bind Riku to his fate. The blacksmiths and some younger scholars of avid knowledge forged binding runes upon the crafted blade. Many rituals took days and days to prepare, then the Daitengu called forth the souls of the dead scholars and forged them into the blade, upon it's final strike of the hammer. The blades power was given through the knowledge of time from these scholars, but for some reason Vinculum only seems to be a fraction of the blade's power.
Red Mouse "The Vampir"
Zoran Vampir, Riku's Uncle, crafted a blade of steel for him at a young age. A regular blade blessed with the power of evil - the power to inflict damage upon the soul, or even devour such a body.
The Serpentine
Another gift given by some unknown man. This holy blade burns brightly against those of an evil alignment, and dares to destroy them upon touch.
Brotherhood
Created of steel and tungsten; this heavy blade is much thicker than most katana of it's kind and is able to match the strength of a greatsword. Black is the steel, which cuts through bodies like air. This sword is the signature of the Nightmare family.

Minds
The First Mind, Riku Nightmare (Neutral Good)
The first mind is Riku - once a young boy and now a stressed young man with worries about doing good. Albeit he is not one to talk, he is distant and collected but prone to rash words. He enjoys learning, although his motivation often lacks, and is not so skilled as he hopes. Riku is a nice young man, but acts like a tough guy on the outside.
The Second Mind, Graviza or "Azura" (Chaotic Good)
Inside the depths of Riku's mind sits a figure much similar to Riku himself. With white skin like paper, and eyes as dark as voids, blue pupils stare with malice. White hair falls below his eyes, and his general appearance mirrors Riku's when inside his mindscape. Azura, as Riku nicknames him, is not so much a person, more than an influencial bloodlust that is insatiable. When this influence takes the reigns, this is the nature of his aura. Often suppressed, Azura is the force behind Riku's desire to kill and take power.
The Third Mind, Bang (Neutral Evil)
A punk-rock looking spirit who haunts Riku in a non-traditional sense. The first of three, Bang is a spirit which also aids Riku in manipulating and controlling the power of evil. Less than often, Bang will possess Riku, turning his skin a light shade of grey and turning his eyes all black with no pupil or iris.
The Fourth Mind, Pow (Neutral Evil)
A metal-looking spirit that haunts Riku alongside Bang. The second of three, Pow is a spirit that maintains the relationship between Riku and Dread. Unlike Bang, he will be the one to never possess Riku unless it is required of him. When possessing Riku, his skin will turn a lighter shade of blue, and his eyes will turn blue with no pupil or iris.
The Fifth Mind, Boom (Neutral Evil)
The third of all three brothers. Like a hippie, Boom is another evil spirit attached to Riku for the purpose of helping Riku discover more power over Dread. He will not possess Riku unless required, but should he, his skin will turn somewhat green and his eyes will turn a forest-green with no pupils or iris.
The Sixth Mind, Nameless (Chaotic Evil)
A shadowy figure in the depths of Riku's mind. This nameless mind is another haunting spirit, which heavily influences the bloodlust in Riku to do things that seem out of character. He will commit sexual acts with dead corpses, or even cannibalize others for no reason.
History
Chapter One, The Start
Living along the eastern coastline of a dark region of one of many worlds, The Cliff was the birthplace of Riku Nightmare. Joined by his companion, a small obsidian dragon by the name of Meebu, they were settled in a happy home carved from the root of a massive oak tree. It stood prominent against the mist of The Cliff. His mother would speak rumors of how wandering souls would find the cliff, then disappear into the mist. Most nights, Riku looked out of his window to see if there was any ghosts that would walk off the cliff. Until the dead hours of the night, he would sit and wait until he saw something. He lived in solitary confinement with his mother, waiting for the days his father would join them. He worked plenty for a military organization, so Riku often forgot what his father's face even looked like. It took ten years for Riku's life to finally skyrocket into catastrophe. Everything changed on the boy's tenth birthday.
As soon as the day began, all was great. He spent the morning with his mother and a lovely breakfast, followed by new faces. A young boy, three years older than him, hid behind his father. The older man turned to be his uncle, Zoran Vampir, and the boy's name was Zandkar. Lowering to a knee, Zoran gifted him The Vampir, knowing full well Riku's life would soon be filled with combat. Reclining in his home, Zoran and Ashe spoke while Zandkar played with Meebu. Riku felt real happiness to have his family, though his father had not yet shown up. Soon enough, there came the clack of thunder and the apparition of his father. Another Katana, one that would symbolize his acceptance, Brotherhood was in Riku's hands. Something did not feel right, and in a fit of rage, he began swinging his sword wildly at his father, who prompted everyone to leave. After an intense battle, Slade brought Riku AllStarz, the facility that trained him for the next three years.
Chapter Two, I'll make a man out of you
For the three passing years after Riku's tenth birthday, all had gone well. Introduced to a second cousin, he managed to learn how to fight at a young age. At thirteen years old, Riku practiced both the arts of Pressure Points and Swordplay. It took little to no time for him to realize his powers as well, practicing each and every day without break. He kept pushing and pushing, until he felt he had enough power to be considered a novice fighter at best. He was able to shift the weight of objects and people, create stopping forces and exaggerating motion, as well as using his own spiritual energy to form explosive bolts and shields to rival physical combat. Although he did not inquired into the metaphysics of his power to learn more, he only opted to learn what else he could accomplish. After a harsh regiment, Riku found a letter addressed to him beneath the door to his room. From his father, he was told to return home to the cliff. With that in mind, he knew he was going to see his mother that day and prepared to go. With a quick wave of his hand, he managed to open a link between the two spaces of the world – he was able to cause temporary portals to appear in order to teleport from location to location instantaneously. Stepping through the boundaries of space and time, he found himself at the cliff, awestruck.
Slade Nightmare, Riku's father, rammed his blade right through his mother's mildly pregnant stomach. Riku froze with fear, and was given a choice: join Slade, or lose his father. That was the last time he saw the man who killed his family. Rushing over to his mother, he sobbed and sobbed, until a weak voice called him over. It was Zoran, who attempted to save his mother from Slade, yet failed to do so. Passing information, Riku had been told to go to a town west from The Cliff to find help. Taking his dying uncle's words, he nodded. After some time of travel, Riku found himself at the Norva. In a brief phone call, he managed to locate the establishment and waltz inside during closed business hours. Finding a man who smelled like weed, Riku was given Zoran's spiritual power. Speaking with Zoran's brother, Riku's uncle, “Mouse” concluded that Riku must kill Slade.
